Rawhide's stiffness and light weight have made it the traditional leather choice for drum heads, shields, moccasin soles and many buckskinning projects. It's also perfect for making thongs and straps. Rawhide has been de-haired and cured, but not tanned. Average size is 21 sq ft. and the weight is 4 to 6 oz.
